Turmeric Zinger Smoothie

turmeric_smoothie

This smoothie was our fifth and final recipe in our smoothie challenge, and man was it a hit! It's incredibly tasty and full of anti-inflammatory properties. ⠀

We use turmeric because of its active ingredient, curcumin which has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a powerful antioxidant. By adding the pinch of black pepper you make the curcumin 2000x more bioavailable in the body.⠀

Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger. It’s responsible for much of ginger’s medicinal properties like its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It may also help reduce oxidative stress, which is the result of having an excess amount of free radicals in the body. So let's get that in there!⠀

We've also added tahini in this zinger because its full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory effects, vitamins, calcium and that good fat we love so much!⠀

Our Mighty Maca powder adds an easy superfood boost to this smoothie with hemp protein, maca root, raw cacao and reishi mushroom.
